The Reishi variety known as Ganoderma multipileum is highly favored by both commercial growers and beginners. It exhibits excellent growth when cultivated in sealed grow bags, requiring minimal maintenance. Within approximately three months, it develops long antler-like structures when grown using Master's Mix (a combination of Soy Hulls and Oak Sawdust/hardwood fuel pellets) or lightly supplemented hardwood sawdust. When inoculated with grain spawn, this species thrives and displays remarkable aggressiveness, often outcompeting contaminants.
